TOWN
Varallo Pombia is a quiet town with about 4.500 inhabitants,
and several historical buildings (among them the Town Hall and
Villa Soranzo). It is situated within the “Ticino Natural Park”,
where you can walk, go cycling, or ride a horse, surrounded by a
stunning landscape. You can go sailing in Lake Maggiore as well,
and visit the “Safari Zoo”, the wildlife park “La Torbiera” and
the museum park “Gottard”, a few kms. away. |

SURROUNDING TERRITORY Visiting Lake Maggiore and its
main cities (Arona, Stresa, Verbania, Laveno, Angera, Sesto C.)
with public transportation is easy. Do not forget to visit the
St Carlo Borromeo statue, the St Caterina hermitage,
the fortress of Angera, and the gardens of Villa Taranto. Lake
Orta, its medieval village, the island of St Giulio, Sacro Monte
and Alto Vergante can all be reached by car. |
